Review for "WITH" - Nathaniel Parsons solo show at Alphonse Berber Gallery in Berkeley

Nathaniel Parsons has a large solo up at Alphonse Berber Gallery in Berkeley titled “WITH.” There is a wide array of Nathaniel’s paintings, sculptures, and installations. Everything he makes has a warm handmade quality that I find quite charming but at the same time the work contains an inner narrative that feels quite strange. Of course I also find the strangeness compelling. In most of the works there are familiar references to oddball Americana but there there is some associated text or titles that put an unusual spin on things. The Alphonse Berber Gallery, run by Cameron Jackson and Jessica Cox, is moving to San Francisco. “WITH” is a nice final show in the current space. This show runs through July 31.

Announcing Alphonse Berber Gallery's move to SF

Alphonse Berber Gallery reports, with feelings of excitement and nostalgia, its decision to merge Alphonse Berber Gallery (Berkeley) with Alphonse Berber Projects (San Francisco). With the closing of our doors in the beautiful Bancroft Way location, Cameron Jackson and Jessica Cox, the gallery directors, will be able to focus more fully on the Union Square location which also houses their other project: MAI West. Nathaniel Parsons' show WITH, will be the final show at Alphonse Berber Gallery in Berkeley. The support of the Berkeley community in our one and a half years on Bancroft has been overwhelming, and our recent success in our new location would not have been possible without it.

Thank you again for supporting the gallery, we hope you are able to attend our final opening this Friday, to attend our gallery moving party on July 31, and to come continue mingling about in our amazing exhibitions in San Francisco. (I know it seems like we're asking a lot, but we'll make sure you enjoy each event).
